Hi all,

I am running a telemac2d model for a river. My upstream boundary is prescribed flow rate from dam, and my downstream boundary is prescribed elevation. When I try to make an initial file for my simulation (constant flow from upstream and constant elevation at downstream), there is some instability occurred in my channel. The velocity is shown in Figure I attached. Can any one tell me why this happened. I attached my results.

That is what happens when you do a cold start. Also you look at a very long time period 2hrs! If you run a shorter period you might see better what is happening. You can make a discharge that starts for 0cms upto the 91.2cms you like gradually.
