Yes, it is an idea and some of the groundwork has been done.
However, we have yet to secure support (read $$$) for this development.

Hello All,

Delft3D-QUICKPLOT loads Telemac3d results files, and has the ability to extract colour coded cross sections (and thus show vertical variation in temperature, salinity, etc.). It is released as open source software.

About the functionnaities, I would add that extrat a result on an horizontal plane at a fix level is also an interesting functionnality (and it's different to extract the result on one of the mesh plan which is not necessary fix at a given level.
