The attribute table for a 2D or 3D Line Set will contain 2 new columns: ClosestOtherLine - which is the line number for a line in the set that is closest to the line under consideration and ClosestOtherLine2DDistance - which is the associated distance.

Note - you may use the menu item Edit... Select Item... in order to select a line given its line number, such as the numbers in the new column ClosestOtherLine.

Note 2 - the attribute table creation may take a little while to complete now that it contains quite a few more calculations than it used to.

Note 3 - the distance from line A to another line B is computed in a brute force way; by considering all points in A and computing the distance from those points to line B. The smallest such value will be considered the closest distance from line A to line B.

Note 4 - The distance from a point to a line may be such that the closest distance lies somewhere on a line segment and not necessarily at the end of a line segment.
