I have used the METEO subroutine in order to implement wind forcing that varies in space and time. I use OPTION FOR WIND = 3. Is it necessary to specify the COEFFICIENT FOR WIND INFLUENCE in my case? I do not see that it is used in METEO for option 3. Since the wind varies in space and time, I would think that the a_wind coefficient should also vary depending on the wind speed, but I don't see where this parameter is computed in the METEO subroutine for option 3.

What you search is implemented in PROSOU subroutine (computation of source term). If you use the default choice for COEFFICIENT OF WIND INFLUENCE VARYING WITH WIND SPEED = YES, you do not need to specify any value for the keyword COEFFICIENT OF WIND INFLUENCE.

Thank you for your reply. I don't see the keyword COEFFICIENT OF WIND INFLUENCE VARYING WITH WIND SPEED in the reference manual, however I should mention that I am using v7p2. Is this coefficient handled differently in the older versions of Telemac?

Indeed, the keyword COEFFICIENT OF WIND INFLUENCE VARYING WITH WIND SPEED was introduced in release v8p1 in TELEMAC-2D (after the introduction in v7p3 in TELEMAC-3D).

This new feature was indeed introduced to prevent from the questions you may have when you do not know what constant value to give or if this coefficient should vary depending on wind velocities.

Once again, you should use the latest release.

Anyway, you can try to add the modifications in your old release by yourself.
