This new functionality will be available after BK 3.12.4-alpha.

After I enabled Edit > Add Attribute... functionality for when a T3 2D Scalar mesh is selected in the WorkSpace, I noticed that the colour scale was not properly initialized. That should now be fixed in the next version.
